The Medical Physics Department of Hospital Regional Universitario Carlos Haya, a university and regional hospital, is a department of the medical division to apply the physics methods in diagnostic and treatment procedures used in different hospital department.
The Medical Physics Department is concern to the use of ionizing radiation in Diagnostic and Treatment, Quality Assurance, General Design Facilities and Radiation Protection; its research and development. As any other application of Physics to Medicine and Health.
The Medical Physics Department has been accredited by Ministry of Education in 2004 as teaching department for medical physicists training.
It is staffed by Medical Physicists and Technicians.
